Skoola Urban Academy, an inclusive urban music institution, offers year-round music programs focused on the genres popular among young people. In recent years, Skoola has been committed to providing scholarships to children aged 10 to 18 who face financial barriers to access its activities and bootcamps. Regrettably, the financial support that sustained these scholarships has now been exhausted.
In response to this critical situation, POR:TA and Skoola joined forces to organize a special fundraising dinner, in November 2023. The talented young musicians from Skoola Urban Academy showcased their talents and inspired everyone who attended this event, raising close to 10.000€ in one night.
"The "It's a fundraiser" event that took place in November was transformative for our Skoola Association. From its conception in collaboration with POR:TA, the creativity in its implementation, the exchange of ideas, the partners chosen, the venue, the diversity and generosity of the guests, the catering, the décor, everything contributed to a significant change not only in financial terms but also in the visibility and reach of our project.
We know that through the Skoolers' live performance and the resulting interaction with the public, we were able to show our potential and what we are convinced of doing: continuing to transform the lives of young people through the language of music and the democratization of access to the arts in general.
